Since 1907, Hayden Lake Country Club has been a gathering place for those who value tradition, connection and exceptional experiences. The Club is dedicated to maintaining its strong tradition by providing first-class recreation, cuisine and hospitality facilities to all members.
Today, Club facilities include an 18-hole golf course, three-hole practice course, driving and chipping range, pickleball and tennis courts, a private marina and swimming dock, eight unique hotel rooms, six cabanas, a beautiful and spacious Clubhouse with renowned dining opportunities, and the Red House, our casual Clubhouse, home to two state-of-the-art golf simulators. In 2024, the Cutter Bar opened, on the North side of the Clubhouse, with a view of Hayden Lake, the perfect spot for members to enjoy dinner and drinks all summer long.
Once a favorite gathering place for the Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe, the Club location on the shores of Hayden Lake was originally the site of the Bozanta Tavern (Bozanta is an Indian word meaning "meeting place by the lake"). J.C. Olmsted, of the distinguished Brookline, Massachusetts Firm of landscape architects who designed New York’s Central Park, was brought in to plan the grounds. The lakeside resort was designed in 1907 by Kirtland Cutter, the leading Northwest architect of the era. In 1927, ownership of the tavern was transferred from the Inland Empire Railroad to a group of Spokane and Coeur d’Alene businessmen. It then became known as The Hayden Lake Country Club, and today is regarded as one of the premier clubs in the Western United States.
Since its founding, the Club has experienced many highlights. We have hosted a sitting President (William Howard Taft), served as the location for a silent film, and functioned as the officers’ quarters for Farragut Naval Base on Lake Pend Oreille during World War II. The HLCC golf course, completed in 1912, was the first 18-hole layout in Idaho and has continued to be the mainstay since the turn of the century.

Our offerings allow you to focus on entertainment and events for the whole family while our staff provides you and your guests with exceptional service. From native sons to recent retirees to a generation of successful families, HLCC is a home away from home to all Club members and their guests.
